Board Prep
Board Prep is a comprehensive training program for young individuals who are interested in serving on non-profit boards. A major goal of Board Prep is to help narrow the leadership gap that exists within the nonprofit sector. Whether you are looking to join a board for the first time or increase your effectiveness on a current board, Board Prep will help you gain insight and skills to serve the non-profit world as a responsible board member.
"PYNL's Board Prep program is unique in that it offers young professionals the opportunity to meet senior leaders in the non-profit community, learn directly from their experience, and then immediately put into practice what has been learned. The program far surpassed my expectations!" - Phil Jodz, Assistant Vice President, Wachovia and Co-Chair, Friends of Please Touch Museum
Application deadline is May 31, 2008

Leadership Lunches
Each month, PYNL invites executives from Philadelphia area non-profit organizations to host a brown-bag lunch with PYNL members. This program is designed to promote informal discussion between experienced leaders and aspiring non-profit professionals in an intimate group setting. Leaders speak to a wide variety of topics including their career path, their organization, and the sector as a whole, and make themselves available for questions from the group. Leadership lunches are a great way to meet and learn from some of the region's most dedicated and inspirational leaders.

Workshops
PYNL hosts regular workshops with local experts to discuss specific topics in front of an audience of members. The workshops address a diverse variety of issues and skills important to emerging leaders in the non-profit sector and vary from larger panel discussions to smaller individually-run sessions. Led by members and non-members alike, PYNL workshops aim to help build awareness and professional skills among our members and increase their capacity to become effective leaders in the non-profit sector.

Networking Events and Service Activities
PYNL hosts periodic networking events to bring together our membership in a more casual setting. Highlighted by our annual toy drive in December, PYNL events offer a great way to meet new people, expand members' professional networks, and often serve a great cause at the same time!

Service Activities
In keeping with our goal of being active and dedicated leaders in the non-profit sector, PYNL offers opportunities to volunteer with a group of members to serve our local communities. PYNL partners with larger efforts such as United Way's Day of Caring and Philadelphia Cares Day, as well as organizing our own activities at local organizations.
