PYNL Launches New Website!
We're thrilled to announce that after months in the works, PYNL has gone live with our new website at www.pynl.org. The site was designed by PYNL committee member Ronnie Grissom and is being hosted free of charge by Verve Internet Solutions. We're excited to have this attractive and user-friendly site up in time for our 2006-2007 programming. We hope you take a moment to browse through!

Director of Commerce Stephanie Naidoff Hosts PYNL's First Leadership Lunch of the Fall
We hope you can join PYNL and Director of Commerce Naidoff for a brown bag lunch and an hour of conversation on October 4th from 12:30pm-1:30pm. Ms. Naidoff was appointed by Mayor John F. Street in February, 2004. In her position, she is the city's Chief Economic Development Officer and its official representative for cultural and other programs and events.

Nonprofit Center at LaSalle Releases New Study About Need for Emerging Non-Profit Leaders
In a recently released study, The Nonprofit Center at LaSalle University revealed a growing leadership gap in Philadelphia's non-profit sector. The study estimates that more than two-thirds of all Executive Directors in the region plan to leave their position in the next four year, and that over half have had no discussion about a succession plan.

The recipient of PYNL's inaugural school supplies drive, AchieveAbility is one of Philadelphia's most dynamic non-profit agencies. The organization is based in the city's Haddington/Cobbs Creek area and provides lower-income families comprehensive, intensive and supportive social services and educational supports in tandem with quality, affordable housing.

On Friday August 25th, PYNL held its first ever School Supplies Drive Happy Hour at the Manayunk Brewery and Restaurant. The event, attended by members and non-members alike, was highlighted by great food and drinks and a towering pile of notebooks, backpacks, pencils and other supplies which benefited the young residents of AchieveAbility. Thanks to all who came for making this a fun and successful event!
