What We Do
PYNL strengthens the nonprofit sector by expanding the knowledge, skills and network of our members.

How We Do It
PYNL engages people interested or involved in nonprofits through professional and leadership development programs, service initiatives, and networking events.

Why We Do It
PYNL's work is important because as we cultivate young nonprofit leadership, we ensure that the sector stays vibrant, relevant, accessible, and effective.

What Do We Mean by "Nonprofit Leaders"?
We believe that nonprofit leadership isn't just about degrees or years of experience. A nonprofit leader is simply a person who is committed to the work of sector. PYNL members have unique backgrounds and represent corporate, government, and nonprofit entities.

What is the Problem
Currently there exists few opportunities for young nonprofit leaders to expand their network, showcase their talents and abilities, and prepare to take on leadership positions in the sector.

What Can I Do?
Join PYNL's listserve, attend PYNL events, take the BoardPrep course, and promote young non-profit leaders role in non-profit development.

PYNL's History
Created in 2001, Philadelphia's Young Nonprofit Leaders began as a program of the Nonprofit Center at LaSalle University and Idealist.Org to be a supportive network of peers responding to the needs of individuals who aspire to grow as leaders. Now under the auspices of The Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition (GPUAC) we have broadened our mission to help strengthen the nonprofit sector by expanding the knowledge, skills and network of people working for, or interested in the work being done by, nonprofits in our region.
